The crisis in housing is affecting thousands of people who feel powerless because they cannot find an affordable place to live. There are twice as many low-income renters competing for affordable housing, as there are apartments or houses available.? This competition for housing pits them against others in the same situation.? It is time to ensure that our communities accommodate the hardworking men and women who drive economic growth.

The North Texas Community Development Association (NTDCA) is committed to advocating for affordable housing for low and moderate working class people.? NTCDA is also committed to increasing affordable housing and revitalizing communities.? Our member organizations work diligently to improve the quality of life for all populations in North Texas.?

NTCDA members use a holistic approach to the continuum of care for citizens? needs through the provision of emergency, supportive and essential services.

Started in 1995, NTCDA members are the ?who?s who? among the grass-root, not-for-profit agencies in affordable housing development.? Together, NTCDA member agencies have produced thousands of single and multi-family housing units.?

By pooling the knowledge and resources of NTCDA members, we can do an even better job of making a real difference in our communities.? To accomplish its mission, NTCDA:

  • Provides strong representation for the community with the help of Federal, State, and Local Government and other key policy makers to assure that the not-for-profit perspective and experience will be factored into policy decisions on affordable housing and community development.
    ?
  • Stimulates innovation in, and breaks down barriers to, private investment in affordable housing and community development.
    ?
  • Accelerates progress in community revitalization by providing a strong, cross-industry network of capital providers that enables not-for-profits to share information and learn from the pioneers and innovators in the field.
    ?
  • Enables members to make the connections that help them achieve their professional and personal goals.

The North Texas Community Development Association applauds the Dallas City Council, City of Dallas Department of Housing, The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, The Enterprise Foundation, and the many contributors and volunteers for their support and their work to reduce the blight of homelessness in North Texas?s communities.
